Course Frame work
A 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of yoga philosophy, anatomy, teaching methodology, and practice. The course framework is generally organized around four main components:
Yoga Philosophy and History: This component covers the foundational texts of yoga, such as the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Bhagavad Gita, and other classical texts. Students learn about the historical development of yoga, the different yoga paths, and the underlying philosophy that guides the practice.
Anatomy and Physiology of Yoga: This component covers the physical and energetic anatomy of the human body, with a focus on how it relates to the practice of yoga. Students learn about the musculoskeletal system, the nervous system, and the subtle body (chakras, nadis, etc.), as well as how to modify asanas for different body types and limitations.
Teaching Methodology and Practice: This component covers the skills and knowledge required to teach yoga effectively, including communication skills, class sequencing, cueing, adjustments, and the use of props. Students also practice teaching asanas, pranayama, and meditation, and receive feedback from their peers and instructors.
Practice and Self-Reflection: This component focuses on deepening the students’ personal practice and developing their self-awareness. Students are required to maintain a regular personal practice throughout the course, which includes daily yoga asana, pranayama, and meditation.
